While not a true god like Roy; he aspires to godling status by doing the entire show singlehandedly on a snowy evening. The home video premier of Rocky Horror caught me at a very formative time - I was a freshman in high school, just discovering myself, and fully embracing rock and roll as the closest thing I'll ever have to religion. The first time I saw it, I was a little disappointed - I was hoping for more horror! However, even at 14 or 15, I was already appreciative of schlock, and could appreciate it for what it was. However, what really grabbed me was the music. Had the music not been so great, I never would have watched it a second time. As it is, we copied the VHS tape we rented from Stop and Shop Home Video, and literally watched it every day for at least a month - including that Thanksgiving. My stepfather was not thrilled, but it seemed to have a big impact on my 7-year-old sister, who some of you old-timers may know as Nessa.

As it happened, Rocky was playing in my hometown of Groton, CT (Roy was in that cast, too!). However, it was winding down by the time I had the opportunity to see it in a theater - the first time I went, the cast had taken the night off. The second time, the cast was....uninspired, to say the least. Roy had long since departed! It wasn't until several years later that I'd run across the Meadowbrook in Warwick. Some friends of mine were lost in our quest to find the Warwick Mall. We never found the mall, but Rocky was playing that night, so we decided to check it out.

My life would never be the same.

During my stint, I managed to drag Will into the fold, and we immediately set out to be as "entertaining" (obnoxious) as humanly possible. Whether carrying on in the dressing room, singing the very worst of Kiss at the top of our lungs, or crawling through the sticky red "Meadowbrook Scum" that coated the floor of the theater, we tried to keep things interesting, and put our guts into every performance.

I'd say that I'm indulging myself with this overlong bio, but...isn't that what Rocky Horror is all about?

Phil started at the Cumberland Twin. He was pulled out of the audience to play Rocky. (It was a few pounds ago.) From there it was on to Crim, Scotty and Eddie (In that order). September 1999 brought the challenge of the first new role (Dad in ST) in 10 years. May 2003 will be 17 years (and God only knows how many performances, well Roy might) of this insanity. He's been the Propmaster (That's Technical Director to most casts.) and Treasurer for the Absolute Pleasure Players. While he's performed with the Teseracts, he considers himself to be only bi-castal (APP and RKO).

*** BIO ***
I'll say two things of all this. With so many changes and chapters between then and now, I think the only thing that remains the same is the spirit. Second, RKO Army is the linear cast dating back thru all the various names.

My association with Rocky Horror was listening to the Rocky Horror album in 1979 of my best (and only) friend Bob who was going to the Cinerama on Hope Street in Providence. Having graduated college, I finally went there on Memorial Day w/e in 1980. That lasted a year and didn't go or end well, but ... lessons learned. I soon joined a cast in Newport's Jane Pickens Theater and eventually became de-facto cast leader. That show ended in 1982. After a run with another cast in Groton in 82-83, Bob and I pulled together the best of the casts of Newport/Providence/Groton and came back and performed the last show (and last movie) ever played at the now cast-less Cinerama in March of 1983. It was a sell out. That final night was the end of the beginning. From there, we ran shows every Friday and Saturday night every week at the Avon (1983), Cable Car (1983), Fairlawn (1983-4), Warwick Mall (1984-5), Cumberland Twin (1985-7), Meadowbrook (1987-1993), and back again to the Jane Pickens (1993-4). We had various names, for years the Rhode Island RHPS Cast, then Creatures of the Night, Wild & Untamed Things, and eventually the Absolute Pleasure Players.

In 1994, we went from being a twice a week every week cast with 1400 shows under our belts to became a barnstorming cast, performing in theaters, clubs, colleges, and streets performing anything from regular shows to audio shows to slides shows to parades. Meanwhile, after 12 different cast versions from 1993 to 1996 at the departed Meadowbrook, a very young and disciplined group called the RKO Players had formed. We ran parallel in 1996, but we found great mutual respect and friendship with them and by 1997 we began attending and performing in each other's productions. Thru complimentary osmosis, we merged our forces, with the younger "RKO" using it's energy to focus on the (now) weekly show and the older "APP" using it's experience and physical resources to focus on everything else outside that, with no delineation on membership within a year. The Meadowbrook run ended in 2000. From there, we went to the Park Cinema (2000-1), the Limelight (2001, same building as the Meadowbrook), and the Castle (2001-3). Plus a monthly run at the Pastime (2002-3). It was during 2003 that we renamed everything "RKO Army".

A new era began in 2003 with the turning to monthly rather than weekly shows and doing the shows at multiple sites. We had runs at the Holiday/Island 10 (2003-2010), Triboro (2004-5), South Kingstown (2007-2010), and East Bridgewater (2005-2011). We still have runs at the Foxboro Orpheum (2007-) and Lincoln CinemaWorld (2010-) and a fledgling run at the Flagship in West Wareham (2011-). Of course, we still road shows, parades, club shows, and anything else under the sun. At the 4711 Con in 2011, we were asked to host the 2013 national Rocky Horror Con, a calling we were humbled by and honored to accept.

Fun Facts
I've also played Trixie once(in a gorilla suit), Rocky twice(as Crimmie and the Incredible Hulk), Hellboy for a preshow at the NYC Rocky convention, and Riff for the spacesuit scenes at The Big "O" con in Witchita,KS.

Sean once performed a two-man show of Shock Treatment in NJ, for an actual paying audience, playing six different roles by quick-changing different costume pieces. He has played Eddie and Crim in the same show, and performed in two different states in the same night. Sean has the Rocky lips and title tattooed on his right shoulder blade.

Judge Oliver Wright
*** BIO ***
Sean attended his first show at the Meadowbrook Cinemas on Halloween of '97 and he's been back every week since then. He joined the cast in Dec. of that year, after he got tired of waiting in the lobby while his friends were in cast meetings. The only remaining member of the old "Conn. Crew", Sean has been playing Eddie, Crimmie, and Dr. Scott since joining the cast, and running the light for almost as long. Later, he added the role of Judge Oliver Wright in Shock Treatment to his resume. He is a Master of an obscure style of two-fisted Ninja lighting techniques taught only in a small village in Tibet, as well as the owner of the Magic Rocky Bag, from which he's been known to pull entire shows at a moment's notice. A graduate with honors from the MacGuyver School, in his spare time he builds advanced technological devices from duct tape, drinking straws, and bubblegum. Sean has seen Rocky in ME, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, W. Virginia, Kansas, and Florida (337 times as of 5-1-05), and performed in eight of those states, including national conventions in NYC, Wichita, and Philadelphia. As well as being a member of RKO and having free-lanced locally in RI and MA with both the Teseract Players and Absolute Pleasure Players, Sean has been the director of the short-lived Half-Ass Cast in CT, a member of another short-run charity cast in CT, and has guest-performed with casts in NJ, PA, and West Virginia.. And will gleefully prostitute his incredible talents for any cast willing to let him perform(pleasepleasepleaseplease).

Sean got involved with theatre in his senior year of high school, doing makeup and props for the school's production of "The Hobbit". His arm made it's theatrical debut holding up a branch that had broken off of the cardboard tree in the background. After acquiring ten theatre arts credits at UCONN, where he played the evil Puppetman in a red cap and green felt lederhosen in a traveling children's partici....pation play, he took a year off from school before being forcibly press-ganged into the Three Rivers Comm.-Tech. College Theater Guild, where he built sets, acted, and worked as a stage hand on several productions, in addition to public readings of his original poetry. His hobbies include compulsive reading, old-school paper-and-dice role-playing games, painting fantasy miniatures, costuming, and anything else that manages to hold his attention for more than a second or two...
