Was dragged to a show one night at the old Castle Cinema and never looked back. I joined up a year after going to the shows and have built many a great memory since that 1st night. Was promoted to Tech Mistress and was heading up the tech crew within a year of service. Once in a while, I'll come out on stage but I prefer doing the backstage work.

Amy has walked quite a bit of varied stage terrain under her stilettos: from dancing burlesque (under the stage name Siri S Bitniss - check her out on facebook!) to reciting some Shakespeare (Juliet, Hamlet, Caliban to name a few) to crowing some Peter Pan and falling down the most fucked up rabbit hole as Alice but nothing holds a candle to this here Transylvanian Picture Show.

When she was 16, her high school French teacher mentioned that going to the Rocky Horror Picture Show was a debaucherous rite of passage. Not to be outdone by America’s youth of yore, down to ye olde Island Cinemas, run down and hidden behind a Home Depot, she went.

Little did she know that these b-rate movie theaters would become her home, the backsides of America’s strip malls would become her natural habitat and these fuckers would become her family. 

Amy has performed as part of the All Star Shock Treatment cast at 3 national conventions (RKO Con included! #represent), Rocky Horror has brought her literally all across this country, from Jersey to LA & back around again. She has met some of the best people she has ever met at Rocky (also a few of the worst but that’s just the balancing game of Life that we play here, there & everywhere)! My first encounter with the Rocky Horror Picture Show was when I was in 4th grade, my mother rented it, and showed it to me. Granted, most of it went way over my head at the time, and I was reintroduced to it in high school, where I became a fan. It took me until my sophomore year of college to finally go to an RKO show, however I quickly went to more and more, until I was involved enough to try and join the cast.

I remember MTV / VH1 used to play the Time Warp as a video back in the early 80's - that was my favorite video, but I hadn't seen the movie yet at that time. One day I was shopping and saw the DVD so I picked it up and forced Crystal to watch it, she didn't know anything about it until then. Then in Sept of 2004 I saw an ad for the Triboro Theater that said it was showing RHPS, so we went w/some of her friends - not realizing that there was a live cast. ( I thought that the only cast around was in Boston & I am afraid to drive in Boston so I had never seen them. ) Well, we loved it & have been going back ever since. Her friends especially loved the fact that it was an all guys cast that night. Crystal later joined the cast & I was approached to work the lights, but I was hesitant because I didn't want to mess up. I finally gave in for the all guys show 2/16/07 in E. Bridgewater since the tech crew was to be all girls that night. I've been on lights or camera ever since.

My first encounter with Rocky was on a silly myspace survey which asked "Have you seen RHPS? How many times?". At the time I did not know what on earth "RHPS" stood for, but I asked around and discovered that it was "some weird movie where people throw toast at each other." Hmm. I later watched it at midnight on AMC. I got my cherry popped in East Bridgewater by Mr. Joshua Zuckerman a.k.a. Pee Wee Herman. I've been an outcast ever since!

I love shopping for purple shoes. I have a slight obsession with The Who. I enjoy Eric Whitacre and The Dresden Dolls... with a little bit of Moses Hogan. Phantom is a good book. Bruce Campbell is amazing. Dark Shadows and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are good shows. I sing opera. Dragons are my favorite.

I first saw the RHPS when she was in 6th grade. When I got to college, my roomie proposed the idea that we should find a live cast in the general area and go to a show. We stumbled upon the RKO Army page and saw that they did regular shows in Middletown and, of course, we went to the next show (October, 2007). After that show, I was hooked. My friend and I attended shows for about two years after that, and fell in love with the cast and the experience. I joined the cast in 2009, performing in Repo as the Single Mom (first!) and other characters--and I've been trying to dapple into everything ever since when I get a chance. I am absolutely enamored with the RKO family.

I'll say two things of all this. With so many changes and chapters between then and now, I think the only thing that remains the same is the spirit. Second, RKO Army is the linear cast dating back thru all the various names. 

My association with Rocky Horror was listening to the Rocky Horror album in 1979 of my best (and only) friend Bob who was going to the Cinerama on Hope Street in Providence. Having graduated college, I finally went there on Memorial Day w/e in 1980. That lasted a year and didn't go or end well, but ... lessons learned. I soon joined a cast in Newport's Jane Pickens Theater and eventually became de-facto cast leader. That show ended in 1982. After a run with another cast in Groton in 82-83, Bob and I pulled together the best of the casts of Newport/Providence/Groton and came back and performed the last show (and last movie) ever played at the now cast-less Cinerama in March of 1983. It was a sell out. That final night was the end of the beginning. From there, we ran shows every Friday and Saturday night every week at the Avon (1983), Cable Car (1983), Fairlawn (1983-4), Warwick Mall (1984-5), Cumberland Twin (1985-7), Meadowbrook (1987-1993), and back again to the Jane Pickens (1993-4). We had various names, for years the Rhode Island RHPS Cast, then Creatures of the Night, Wild & Untamed Things, and eventually the Absolute Pleasure Players. 

In 1994, we went from being a twice a week every week cast with 1400 shows under our belts to became a barnstorming cast, performing in theaters, clubs, colleges, and streets performing anything from regular shows to audio shows to slides shows to parades. Meanwhile, after 12 different cast versions from 1993 to 1996 at the departed Meadowbrook, a very young and disciplined group called the RKO Players had formed. We ran parallel in 1996, but we found great mutual respect and friendship with them and by 1997 we began attending and performing in each other's productions. Thru complimentary osmosis, we merged our forces, with the younger "RKO" using it's energy to focus on the (now) weekly show and the older "APP" using it's experience and physical resources to focus on everything else outside that, with no delineation on membership within a year. The Meadowbrook run ended in 2000. From there, we went to the Park Cinema (2000-1), the Limelight (2001, same building as the Meadowbrook), and the Castle (2001-3). Plus a monthly run at the Pastime (2002-3). It was during 2003 that we renamed everything "RKO Army". 

A new era began in 2003 with the turning to monthly rather than weekly shows and doing the shows at multiple sites. We had runs at the Holiday/Island 10 (2003-2010), Triboro (2004-5), South Kingstown (2007-2010), and East Bridgewater (2005-2011). We still have runs at the Foxboro Orpheum (2007-) and Lincoln CinemaWorld (2010-) and a fledgling run at the Flagship in West Wareham (2011-). Of course, we still road shows, parades, club shows, and anything else under the sun. At the 4711 Con in 2011, we were asked to host the 2013 national Rocky Horror Con, a calling we were humbled by and honored to accept.

Tom saw Rocky for the first time in 1999 with a group of his friends from the University of Wyoming. They went to see the now defunct Mile High Cast, and since none of them had ever seen the show before (not even on VHS), they were in for a surprise.Fast forward to 2007 where his long time friend Bill decided that he needed to get him out of the house one Friday night and dragged him out to Rocky. Lisa took a hiatus to get lots of college degrees and to work at the Tweeter Center. Her favorite part is playing Janet in Shock Treatment. She is enrolled in the M.A.T. program at RIC and will begin her student teaching as a high school English teacher in the fall. In her spare time she listens to country music, gets tattoos, buys Hello Kitty memorabilia and chases cowboys!!  Lisa then was recruited back again to co-Direct the RKO Army in 2003.
